Instructor Profile by Victor Hall Born in 1957, I initially took up Karate in 1975 at age 17. My fellow white belt at the time was Sensei Gorman! – Needless to say I had other things on my mind at that age and stopped after only a few weeks – a lesson to be learned there I think. It wasn’t until 1991 that I came back to train after a work colleague with a bad temper decided to take his anger out on me. This incident prompted me to seek out Sensei Gorman and start again. I have now trained at Watford Seniors since 1991 with a short break of about 3 months about 3 years ago and have been club secretary for about 10 of those years. I took my Shodan grading in 1997, Nidan in 2002 and Sandan in 2005 and have been a co Instructor for both Watford seniors & juniors for many years. I enjoy training, especially with our chief Instructors who have many different facets and outlooks to offer. Favourite Karate Memory Passing my last grading and being told by Sensei Perry that I did well. Likes Training hard but also learning from it, not just marching up and down. Dislikes Excessive egos and Black Belt snobbery – respect must be a mutual aspect. Click on a thumbnail below to see a full size image
